May 2025 Spring Potluck Event Recap

Thank you for attending our Spring Potluck! We're so glad you could make it in spite of the inclement weather. A wonderful time was had by all!

The fun began with Liza Schoenfein's amazing Rhubarb Spring Fling, a colorful cocktail with a rose-petal rim made from a lyrical blend of rhubarb syrup, fresh lime juice, vodka, and a spritz of sparkling water.

Ellen Barry and Lauren McGrath scouted out our fab location, Home Cooking New York on Grand Street, where we had an incredible evening of camaraderie and excellent cuisine.

Barbara Tanis' exquisite calligraphy and design was the finishing touch that made everything look as gorgeous as it tasted.

Here's a sampling of the delicious foods we shared:

  • Anne Heartness brought Tortellini Salad
  • Annie Hauck dished up Chana Dal
  • Bambe Levine whipped up Pickled Beets
  • Barbara Tanis put together a selection of Pintxos & Tapas
  • Ellen Barry made Mocha Ice Cream Sundaes
  • Jenn Ifill baked Red Velvet Ooey-Gooeys
  • Judy Weinstein tossed together Yotam Ottolenghi’s Cucumber Salad & also brought Wagashi Sweets straight from a recent trip to Japan
  • Karen Chin served up San Choy Bau (Lettuce wraps)
  • Lauren McGrath made Persian-Lime-Coated Prawns
  • Liz Levine produced Empanadas and Tomatillo Sauce
  • Liza Schoenfein shook up some Rhubarb & Rose Spring Fling Cocktails and baked an Olive Oil Cake served with Rhubarb Sauce
  • Lydia Haam baked Spring Tarts With Asparagus, Peas, and Smoke Salmon
  • Rebecca Montero and Tina Diep cooked up Cheesecake

We hope this delectable list inspires you to join us next time so we can highlight your favorite culinary contribution! (If I have missed anyone, my sincere apologies—and please let me know!)

We also had some lucky prize winners:

  • Free drinks at our next happy hour went to Rebecca Montero
  • Free admission to our next event went to Annie Hauck
  • Free Membership went to Sheryl Gaines
  • Beautiful bottles of wine went to Tina Diep, Barbara Tanis, Karen Chin, and Lydia Haam

And as a parting gift, everyone went home with a fabulous new Microplane!

A big thank you to those who made it, and to those who couldn't: We hope to see you next time!

If you brought a guest, please forward this email to them and invite them to join our organization!

Cheers!
