The Instant Pot or electric pressure cooker is the latest and hottest kitchen toy. Join NYWCA member Rinku Bhattacharya as she cooks up a basic comforting Indian dish of Khichuri, a mélange of rice, red lentils and vegetables finished with a tempering of ghee. Rinku will also show how to work the Instant Pot and use it almost anywhere and she will lead an interactive discussion on Indian cooking and the regional diversity of Indian cooking.
The evening includes tasting the Khichuri and a signed copy of Rinku’s new cookbook Instant Indian ($19.95 retail). (Members can instead choose Rinku’s first (non-instant pot) cookbook The Bengali Five Spice Chronicles.)
Additional signed copies can also be pre-ordered.
Limited to 18 attendees.
Three volunteers needed : one general helper, one for write-up and one for photography and social media.
