The NYWCA Summer Book Club selection is Notes from a Young Black Chef: A Memoir, an inspirational memoir about the intersection of race, fame, and food, in which former Top Chef contestant and James Beard Award-winning chef Kwame Onwuachi shares his powerful story of his culinary coming-of-age. The New York Times Book Review writes: “Fierce and inspiring…This rip-roaring tale of ambition is also a sobering account of racism in and out of the food industry.”
The Summer Book Club will be held virtually via RingCentral. The link will be sent to attendees within 24 hours of the event.
