Rosa's journey from gastronomic neophyte began in Hong Kong, where she met and married her husband, before moving to the UK. She recalls boiling unopened cans of soup to warm their contents. Her lack of epicurean expertise was overcome by a culinary kismet connection to Marcella Hazan in Milan.
From there, Rosa was destined to become a Wok star, inventively coining the term "Wok on Wheels” for her company.
Over the years, she was a talented chef and instructor, a caterer, author of cookbooks, as well as a respected expert on The Food Network, and on the pages of Saveur and Food &!Wine. Ultimately she opened Scrimshaw, her restaurant on the Northfork of Long Island.
We invite you to join us in honoring Rosa's illustrious life and career in a way she would enjoy: a potluck gathering.
Please bring your favorite Asian dish to share with us, her family, friends, and colleagues.
Your RSVP is essential so we can assess what we will have to serve, what we will need, and how many people will be attending. Please email to thewokqueen@gmail.com your Name, Attending #, Dish and Qty the dish will serve
